Los Angeles woman arrested on Iranian arms trafficking charge
Shamim Mafi, a 44-year-old Iranian national and U.S. lawful permanent resident, was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on charges of brokering arms sales between Iran and Sudan. She is accused of trafficking drones, bombs, and ammunition through her Omani company Atlas International Business, which received $7 million in payments. Mafi faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
