Hawaii tourist charged with attempted murder, accused of stabbing veteran boat captain on snorkel tour

A 21-year-old Kansas tourist, Avery Nissen, was charged with second-degree attempted murder and assault after allegedly stabbing a 62-year-old veteran boat captain, Stanley Lurbiecki, during a snorkel tour in Hawaii. The captain sustained multiple stab wounds but is in stable condition. Nissen was restrained by passengers and faces a $1.57 million bail.
