Apple CEO Tim Cook is stepping down and will be succeeded by John Ternus, senior vice president of hardware engineering, who will take over as CEO on September 1, 2026. Tim Cook will become executive chairman, and Johny Srouji has been named chief hardware officer, assuming leadership of hardware engineering and technologies.
