Mejia sworn in, filling Sherrill’s seat and further narrowing GOP House majority

Rep. Analilia Mejia (D-N.J.) was sworn in to represent New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District, reducing the GOP majority in the House. She defeated Republican Joe Hathaway in a special election following the vacancy caused by Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s seat.
