Meta slashes 10 percent of workforce

Meta is cutting 10% of its workforce, affecting approximately 10,000 employees, as part of a strategic shift to invest in artificial intelligence products. The layoffs, effective May 20, were announced by Chief People Officer Janelle Gale, with 6,000 job openings to be eliminated.
