HSBC profits fall amid $400m fraud-related charge and Iran war
HSBC's profits fell 4% to $9.4bn in the first three months of the year due to a $1.3bn hit from the US-Israel war on Iran and fraud in the private credit sector. The bank set aside an extra $300m to cover effects of the Middle East conflict. Revenue increased 6% to $18.6bn.
