Senate Republican leaders plan to abandon a $1 billion proposal for security measures at Donald Trump's White House ballroom after facing backlash from within their own party. Republicans feared the funding diversion would alienate voters ahead of midterm elections. The proposal had been attached to a $70 billion bill for ICE and border patrol funding.
