Rise in shoplifting and theft in UK finds nine in 10 retailers in rural areas targeted
Nine in 10 rural retailers in the UK were victims of shoplifting and theft in the past year, with an average financial loss of £83,000 per business. The survey by NFU Mutual also revealed that 5% of affected retailers faced losses exceeding £500,000.
