Allred defeats Johnson in Texas Democratic House primary runoff

Former Rep. Colin Allred (D-Texas) is projected to defeat Rep. Julie Johnson (D-Texas) in the Democratic primary runoff for Texas’s newly drawn 33rd Congressional District. Johnson had succeeded Allred after he vacated his seat to challenge Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in 2024, but Allred lost that race and launched a comeback bid.
