Israel says it killed new Hamas military leader in Gaza
Israel claims to have killed Mohammad Odeh, the new leader of Hamas' Qassam Brigades, in an airstrike in Gaza City during Eid al-Adha. The attack, which killed five people including Odeh's family members, occurred amid ongoing conflict and displacement in Gaza, where most residents live in temporary shelters. Israel's defense minister stated the strike targeted a key architect of the October 7, 2023, attacks.
