George Santos says lawyers are talking to DOJ amid reported probe

George Santos announced his lawyers are in talks with the Justice Department after being flagged by prediction market Kalshi for placing bets conflicting with his public statements about attending President Donald Trump's State of the Union address. Kalshi reported the bets to the DOJ and Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Santos has faced prior legal issues, including a federal indictment and expulsion from Congress over resume fraud, but was granted clemency by Trump in October.
