Afghan National Sentenced to Serve 15 Years in Federal Prison After Plotting Election Day Terror Attack in the United States

Abdullah Haji Zada, a 19-year-old Afghan national and U.S. lawful permanent resident, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for attempting to acquire firearms and ammunition for a planned election day terror attack in the United States. The conviction stems from charges of knowingly receiving and conspiring to receive weapons intended to commit a federal crime of terrorism.
