LaGuardia firefighter heard ‘stop’ before crash but didn’t know who it was for, report says
A firefighter at LaGuardia Airport heard an air traffic controller yell 'stop' before a fatal collision with an Air Canada jet on March 22, but the crash prevention system failed to alert them. Runway lights remained active until three seconds before impact, according to the National Transportation Safety Board's preliminary report.
