SEC advances Trump-backed proposal to end mandatory quarterly earnings reports

The SEC proposed a rule change to allow companies to file semiannual reports instead of traditional quarterly reports. This proposal was backed by Trump. The new form, 10-S, would replace the traditional quarterly 10-Qs.
