Quantum coherent manipulation and readout of superconducting vortex states

Vortices trapped in superconducting granular aluminium films can behave as a quantum two-level system and be manipulated and read out, suggesting potential use in future quantum technologies. The discovery was published online in Nature on May 6, 2026. This breakthrough could lead to advancements in quantum technologies.
