A large-scale analysis of protein energy landscapes was published in Nature, revealing hidden variation in conformational fluctuations among sequences with the same fold and global folding stability. The study analyzed 5,778 domains, each 28-64 amino acids in length. This discovery provides new insights into protein structure and function.
