US, Philippines on Cusp of Deal on Economic Security Zone, US Official Says

The US and Philippines are approaching a deal on an economic security zone after Philippine officials rejected an earlier US proposal to place the 1,260-hectare zone under US jurisdiction. US Undersecretary of State Jacob Helberg announced the countries are on the cusp of reaching an agreement on the matter.
