Virginia class action proposal dies after Spanberger veto
Virginia will remain one of only two states without a formal class action process after Gov. Abigail Spanberger vetoed legislation that would have allowed collective lawsuits under specific conditions. The bill, sponsored by Del. Marcus Simon and Sen. Scott Surovell, aimed to enable groups with similar legal claims to sue collectively if certain criteria were met, including shared legal/factual questions and adequate representation.
