Attack on Iran’s oil released as much pollution as a volcano

Airstrikes on Tehran earlier this year released 30,000 tonnes of sulphur dioxide, a pollutant plume that reached Asian countries. The attack on Iran’s oil infrastructure generated pollution comparable to volcanic emissions.
