Rising fuel and transportation costs are increasing financial strain on abortion funds that assist people traveling for care in states where abortion is restricted. Abortion funds report a doubling of average costs per person and some have paused services due to funding shortages, with over 158,000 individuals supported in 2025 compared to 82,000 in 2022.
