Emilio Valdez, a 20-year-old Michigan athlete, was lured by a Snapchat message before being shot and dumped in Osmun Lake while still alive on June 7, 2018. He was found with gunshot wounds to the chest and head, and his family later identified his body. Investigators noted he had joined a new group of friends and was carrying marijuana and a shoebox when he disappeared.
