Hungary MPs back plan to cut their own salaries by 40 per cent
Hungarian lawmakers unanimously voted to cut their salaries by 40% as part of PM Péter Magyar's plan to reduce administrative costs. Critics had accused his predecessor, Viktor Orban, of providing high salaries to placate opposition deputies. Magyar's party, filled with political newcomers, won the April 12 elections by a landslide.
