Temple study finds adults who got gender-affirming surgeries happy with results, not the process
A Temple University study found that 18 transgender or nonbinary adults who underwent gender-affirming surgeries were satisfied with the outcomes but reported dissatisfaction with the process due to barriers like expenses, paperwork, and lack of surgeon empathy. Participants felt stripped of control and experienced fear and frustration during the pre-surgery process.
