Gaston County woman charged in the death of autistic non-verbal woman who died of ‘severe’ malnutrition, court records say
A Gaston County woman, Marlo Wallace, was charged with first-degree murder and other offenses in the death of 23-year-old Aaliyah Michelle Fortner, an autistic non-verbal woman who died from severe malnutrition and blunt force injuries. Wallace allegedly neglected Fortner, who required around-the-clock care, and another individual, Vera Williams, was charged with patient abuse and neglect.
