Rebar Goes Into the Ground as Pasadena’s Central Library Retrofit Hits Structural Phase

Steel rebar is being installed beneath Pasadena’s Central Library for the first time in its 99-year history, marking the start of the construction phase of a voter-funded earthquake retrofit. About 70 workers are currently working across the building, with excavators trenching in the basement and crews active on the roof.
