Attacks on education, pupils and staff around the world up by 40%, says study
Global attacks on education surged by 40% in 2024-2025, with 8,556 incidents reported across 83 countries, harming at least 10,600 students and staff through killings, injuries, abductions, or arrests. Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Haiti, Palestine, and Ukraine recorded the highest incidences.
