Argentine Families’ Debt Has Doubled, and the Bills Are Piling Up
Argentine families' debt has doubled, with private-sector credit rising to 13.6% of GDP in January 2024 from 5.2% in late 2023. Total household debt now exceeds AR$39tn ($28.9bn), while bank loan late payments reached 10.6% in January, the highest level since 2010.
