General Atomics awarded U.S. Army contract for extended-range artillery
The U.S. Army awarded General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems a contract to develop maneuvering 155mm artillery rounds with extended range and non-GPS guidance. The projectile, tested to hit targets over 74 miles away, aims for initial operational capability by 2030 and includes collaboration with the U.S. Navy for maritime use.
