BlackRock Launches New Bitcoin ETF Combining BTC Exposure With Covered Call Income

BlackRock launched the iShares Bitcoin Premium Income ETF (BITA), which combines spot bitcoin exposure with a covered call strategy to generate monthly income. The fund holds bitcoin and the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT), selling call options on 25-35% of IBIT holdings to collect premiums, with a 0.65% sponsorship fee. It uses a tax-efficient structure with Section 1256 contracts for favorable capital gains treatment.
