SpaceX buys AI coding startup Cursor for $60 billion in race for an edge over Anthropic and OpenAI

SpaceX is acquiring AI coding startup Cursor for $60 billion to gain a competitive edge against Anthropic and OpenAI. The deal, set to close in Q3, will make Cursor a wholly owned subsidiary, leveraging its AI coding assistant and distribution to software engineers.
