Justice minister says new bail and sentencing law is a 'major step forward'
The Liberal government's bail and sentencing reforms, known as Bill C-14, became law after receiving royal assent. The new legislation amends the Criminal Code, the Youth Criminal Justice Act, and the National Defence Act to tighten bail and sentencing rules.
