Cuba’s Communist Party convenes unscheduled session to debate new economic measures

Cuba’s Communist Party (PCC) held an unscheduled session to discuss economic reforms announced by President Miguel Díaz-Canel, which aim to expand private business opportunities and address the island’s economic crisis. The National Assembly also convened to follow up, as the U.S. energy blockade exacerbates shortages of power, food, water, and medicine, disproportionately affecting vulnerable populations.
