US is interested in a Polish offer for a permanent US military base, Polish official says

A senior Polish defense official confirmed U.S. interest in a Polish offer for a permanent U.S. military base in Poland. The Polish government has approved steps to facilitate the base, which would be jointly financed, but the final decision rests with the U.S. Around 10,000 U.S. troops are currently stationed in Poland on a rotational basis.
