Return of the native: The Nilgiris planning to promote cultivation of native fruit trees

The Nilgiris are promoting the cultivation of native fruit trees by setting aside an acre at the pomological station in Coonoor for species like wild figs, monkey fruit, wild guavas, jamuns, and Eleocarpus tectorius (Vikki fruits). Authorities are encouraging farmers to cultivate these fruits.
