State Grant Turns Descanso Gardens Into a Fire-Suppression Resource for the Foothills
The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy has approved an $800,000 grant for Descanso Gardens to fund water storage and fire-suppression infrastructure, as announced by Assemblymember John Harabedian (D-Pasadena). The 150-acre botanical garden will hold 3 million gallons of water to aid firefighters in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone.
