Popular antidepressant recalled for high levels of a potentially cancer-causing chemical
A popular antidepressant, duloxetine (generic Cymbalta), is being recalled due to high levels of nitrosamines, a potential cancer-causing chemical. The FDA reported that Breckenridge Pharmaceutical initiated the recall on June 4, affecting 360,000 bottles of 30-mg and 60-mg delayed-release capsules with specific lot codes and expiration dates. Patients are advised to consult their doctor or pharmacist before discontinuing the medication.
