Columbia adds tactical police vehicle, new fire engine to strengthen emergency response

The City of Columbia, Tennessee, is investing over $1 million in new police and fire equipment, including a Ford Transit 350 HD 4x4 tactical van for SWAT operations and a 2026 KME fire engine to replace aging apparatus. The tactical van was funded by Tennessee’s Violent Crime Intervention Fund Grant, while the fire engine was chosen for cost efficiency and faster delivery compared to custom models.
