Voluntary evacuation announced for sections of St. Landry Parish

St. Landry Parish Government announced a voluntary evacuation for residents north of Highway 10 due to flooding risks from heavy rainfall in Avoyelles Parish. Residents are advised to seek shelter at a Red Cross facility in Opelousas as water drains into the Atchafalaya River.
