Preschooler removed from program after gun found in backpack

A 4-year-old preschooler was removed from a summer program at the Levite Jewish Community Center in Birmingham, Alabama, after a firearm was found in her backpack. The parent reported the weapon was accidentally left in the backpack, and it was quickly removed by campus security. The JCC cited safety concerns and its firearms policy to justify disenrolling the student.
