Ghost of far-right paramilitaries hovers over Colombia’s presidential runoff vote

Colombians will vote in a presidential runoff between Iván Cepeda and Abelardo de la Espriella, both of whom have personal histories linked to far-right paramilitaries. The paramilitaries, formed by rightwing landowners and others, were central to a decades-long armed conflict that caused nearly half a million deaths.
