Rio’s Downtown Tram Turns Ten With 180 Million Rides
The VLT Carioca tram network in Rio has operated for ten years, carrying over 180 million passengers since its 2016 launch. It serves approximately 95,000 riders daily, with trains assembled at Alstom’s plant in Taubaté, São Paulo state.
