NYPD detective shot in standoff with armed lunatic gets sweet hug from Commissioner Tisch after hospital release
NYPD detective Matthew Gale, a 15-year veteran of the Emergency Service Unit, was released from Kings County Hospital Center after being shot during a standoff with an armed individual. He received a hug from Commissioner Tisch and was escorted out by officers who saluted, clapped, and played bagpipes.
