PRIMARY RESULTS: Democratic socialists Lander and Valdez win, tight race for Nadler’s seat in Manhattan

Democratic socialists Brad Lander and Claire Valdez won primary races for Congressional seats in Manhattan and Queens. A tight race remains for the 12th Congressional District seat previously held by Jerry Nadler, with Micah Lasher narrowly leading Alex Bores. Turnout in the 2026 primaries was significantly lower than the 2025 mayoral primary.
