Iranian pilgrims mourn their war dead during Ashura rituals

Iranian pilgrims carried photos of loved ones killed in the war with the U.S. and Israel to Karbala, Iraq, to participate in Ashura rituals commemorating the death of Imam Hussein. Ashura marks the 10th day of Muharram and honors the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, a grandson of Prophet Mohammad, who died in a 680 battle in Karbala.
