AP's first journalist killed in action was at the Battle of Little Bighorn 150 years ago

Mark Kellogg, a journalist for The Bismarck Tribune and New York Herald, was the first Associated Press journalist killed in action at the 150-year-old Battle of Little Bighorn. He was embedded with Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer's troops, and his death marked the beginning of 38 AP journalists who have died on the job since 1876.
