A Brazilian Plant Aims to Turn Mining’s Red Mud Into Green Iron
A semi-industrial plant under construction at Hydro’s Alunorte refinery in Barcaréna, Pará, aims to process 50,000 tonnes of red mud annually into green iron by July 2026. Developer New Wave is investing R$240m ($46m) in the project.
