Judge rules Vermont Avenue bus project will move ahead, for now, without bike lanes
A judge ruled that Los Angeles' $400 million bus rapid transit project on Vermont Avenue can proceed without bike lanes, rejecting a lawsuit arguing that the city's involvement in the project's design and permitting process triggers Measure HLA street safety requirements. The lawsuit, led by Joe Linton, claims the city failed to implement bike lanes as mandated by Measure HLA during past resurfacing efforts along the same corridor.
