‘Kind of miracle solution’: How Paris is harnessing the Seine to replace air-con
Paris is expanding its district cooling network by tripling underground pipes that distribute chilled Seine water to public and commercial buildings, reducing reliance on individual air-conditioning units. The system, operational since the 1990s, currently serves 120km of pipes supplying cooling to museums, offices, hospitals, schools, and luxury hotels.
