Carlos Slim’s Claro Buys Into Brazil’s Fiber Boom
Claro, the Brazil arm of América Móvil, is acquiring 73% of Brazilian fiber provider Desktop for approximately four billion reais (770 million dollars), a 44% premium to the prior share price. The deal positions Claro to expand into Brazil's growing fiber market.
