In Kerala, breastfeeding figures show a marked improvement

Kerala's exclusive breastfeeding rate for infants under six months rose from 55.5% to 72.7% between NFHS-5 and NFHS-6. Additionally, 82.3% of infants now receive breastfeeding within an hour of birth, up from 66.7%. The improvement is attributed to the Mother and Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative, launched in 2021.
